CompetingWorkshop

“I found it very useful. I thought that not only was the content very helpful, but also the atmosphere – very confidence building. I appreciate the personal attention you gave and the way you handled different personalities. I look forward to our follow up.” (Senior Investment Analyst)

It is disappointing, after a long search and being one of the candidates on a strong director short-list, not to be selected. Nomination processes can be fraught.

It takes real skill to guide those from the nomination committee during the interview and selection process. This includes countering any biases or pre-existing preferences and shifting the mind-set to transferable skills or potential.

Facilitated by Dianne Jacobs at the completion of this 3-hour group session you will have:

  1. Assessed Why A Board Application Gets Rejected And Which Tactics Reduce The Risk
  2. Identified Your Director ‘Domain Strengths’ And Value Proposition For Targeted Boards As It Relates To The 7 Ways Directors Add Value
  3. A Framework To Express The Contribution And Transferable Skills That You Bring To The Board, The Skills Matrix And Sub-Committee Needs
  4. Reviewed Your Interview Plan To Ensure The Right Skill-Sets Are Apparent To Nomination Committees Or Search Firms
  5. Develop a Stronger Cover Letter and Application
  6. A Method To Deal With Any Gaps In Your Capabilities And Profile
  7. Know How To Approach The Different Types Of Nomination Interviews In A Way That Reinforces Your Case As A Director
  8. Completed An Instrument That Helps Identify Your Director Style And How That Influences Your Interview Focus
  9. Considered Boardroom Dynamics And The Eight Warning Signs Before Accepting A Board Role
  10. Designed A Plan To Be More Effective With Future Board Applications And Searches.

You will also have a 30 minute post-workshop one-to-one coaching session that includes a review of your board resume and cover letter.
